Best time to visit Bali from India

Wondering when to book your Bali holiday from India? Bali is a year-round destination, but the weather and prices do change with the seasons. This month-by-month guide helps you pick the best time to visit Bali from India for your trip.

Quick Answer

  • Best overall: April to October (dry season)
  • Best value: April–June & September–October
  • Peak (busy & pricey): July–August, December–January
  • Wettest: January–February

Bali Has Two Seasons

Bali is a small tropical island with a simple climate: a dry season from April to October with sunny skies, lower humidity and calm seas, and a wet season from November to March with warm afternoon showers. Only the highlands around Ubud and Kintamani feel noticeably cooler. For a full breakdown, see our Bali weather by month tool.

Month-by-Month at a Glance

  • Jan–Feb: Wettest months, warm, lowest prices. Good for spa and wellness trips.
  • Mar: Rain easing; watch for Nyepi (Day of Silence), when the island shuts down for 24 hours.
  • Apr–Jun: Dry, sunny, green and great value — ideal for beaches, Ubud and the islands.
  • Jul–Aug: Peak season — sunniest and busiest; book early.
  • Sep–Oct: Dry and a little quieter than the peak — a sweet spot.
  • Nov–Dec: Wet season returns; festive and lively over the holidays.
Tip: April–October is best for fast boats to Nusa Penida and the Gili Islands, when the seas are calmest for snorkelling and diving.

Best Time for Beaches, Ubud & the Islands

Beaches & surf (Kuta, Seminyak, Uluwatu): May–September. Ubud & highlands: May–September for cool, green rice-terrace weather. Nusa Penida & Gili Islands: April–October for calm seas. Plan where to go with our Bali destinations guides.
