Overview of Sanur
Sanur is Bali's original beach resort — a relaxed, leafy town on the east coast with a calm lagoon beach, a long seafront cycling-and-walking path, and a gentle, family-friendly pace.
It is a favourite for families and older travellers, and the main jumping-off point for fast boats to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and the Gili Islands.
Best Time to Visit Sanur
Bali has two seasons — a dry season from April to October and a wetter season from November to March. The dry months are sunny, less humid and ideal for beaches, temples and island trips; the wet season still has plenty of sunshine between short, heavy afternoon showers.
For Indian travelers: Best months for Indian travellers: May, June, July, August, September. Warm, dry and sunny (27–31°C). July–August is peak season. The wet months (Dec–Feb) are cheaper and still enjoyable, with greener scenery.

How to Reach Sanur from India
Fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar (DPS). Bali is served by Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) near Kuta. There are limited direct flights from India, but smooth 1-stop connections via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok. Total travel time is typically 8–12 hours including the layover. Book 6–8 weeks ahead for the best fares, especially for the July–September peak.

Practical Tips for Indian Travelers
Indian Food
Indian food is easy to find in South Bali — Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Sanur and Ubud all have good Indian restaurants, with vegetarian, Jain (on request) and halal options.
Temple Dress Code
A sarong and sash are needed to enter temples (usually provided or rented at the gate), and shoulders and knees should be covered.
Getting Around
Use ride apps (Grab, Gojek) or a private driver; metered Bluebird taxis are reliable. A private car with driver is great value for sightseeing days.
Money
